I highly suggest restoring the pinch contacts to their manufactured configuration. Litter Robot owner here -- Have had two litter robots and I think a recent batch of circuits is faulty. First one had no trouble with DFI for years; second one I bought refurbished and DFI went in 2 months. I replaced the DFI on first one, that lasted only 2 months. If Whisker does not get on top of this, they will lose their audience.
The yellow light flashing quickly is due to the anti-pinch feature. The Anti-Pinch safety feature is two pin connected to the motherboard that must touch each other continuously. If they are separated, you will have an alarm (yellow blinking light). The Anti-Pinch safety is located in the top back left of the Litter-Robot base.Remove the globe and put the bonnet back on to see if the motor will go the whole way.
